The Charente-Maritime real estate market doesn’t seem to be in crisis at the start of this year. On average, a property is sold in 68 days in La Rochelle, according to the latest figures published by Le Figaro Immobilier for January 2025. By way of comparison, this is exactly the same timeframe as in Paris (also 68 days) and less than in Marseille (75 days), Lyon (77 days), Lille (87 days), Biarritz (91 days) or even Bordeaux (100 days), a sign that the market is still very dynamic in La Rochelle.
Royan and Saintes also benefit from rapid sales, with an average of 69 days for the former and 70 for the latter. Of the four largest towns in Charente-Maritime, only Rochefort is really behind, with an average of 93 days for a sale.
In some towns, the time taken is even less than two months, as in Surgères, where it takes an average of 58 days to sell a property.
